platform is the work of artist and designer, rosy naylor. Based in Edinburgh's seaside Portobello, Scotland, rosy works to create perceptive, unique sites for those interested in having a visual presence to promote their work or business. Each site is highly functional, accessible to all, yet creative in the experience for the user; a time based engagement.
Rosy's background is in contemporary art practice (MFA Glasgow School of Art). Coupled with that of audience development and arts marketing, she brings an informed and logical approach to the design of each website, one that is perfectly tuned to the arts sector.
The making process at its core.
Highly visual, each website is individually created to capture the quality of work being shown. It is a collaborative approach to design that has an understanding of the art making process at its root. Each design is unique, created without templates, and results from a dialogue between artist and designer. Time is built into each web project to gain an understanding of the work and ideas being shown so that a considered and thoughtful design can be created, one that is appropriate for the context in which it is made.
More than simply about design.
Rosy is interested in publicising the latest new work and exhibitions of many of the artists and makers it designs for.
is the promotional service with this in mind.
